There is an old Chinese saying, "One who does good will be repaid with good, one who does evil will be repaid with evil. If repayment has not yet come, it is because the time has not yet come."

There was a king in Israel, once he got enthroned (after his father's death), he killed all his brothers (perhaps for fear that they might pose a threat to his throne). But GOD put an extremely painful, incurable, disease on him (on his bowel), that he died in agony after some years [2 Chronicles 21].

[2 Chronicles 21]

Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David; and Jehoram his son reigned in his stead.

He had brothers, the sons of Jehoshapaht : Azariah, Jehiel, Zechariah, Azariah, Michael, and Shephatiah; all these were the sons of Jehoshaphat king of Judah.

Their father gave them great gifts, of silver, gold, and valuable possessions, together with fortified cities in Judah; but he gave the kingdom to Jehoram, because he was the first-born.

When Jehoram had ascended the throne of his father and was established, he slew all his brothers with the sword, and also some of the princes of Judah.

And after all this the LORD smote him in his bowels with an incurable disease. In course of time, at the end of two years, his bowels came out because of the disease, and he died in great agony.

When people have power, it is likely that they will use their power to deprive others of their legal property/possession. But GOD said He will punish those who do them [Micah 2:1-3]

[Micah 2:1-3]

Woe to those who devise wickedness and work evil upon their beds! When the morning dawns, they perform it, because it is in the power of their hand.

They covet fields, and seize them; and houses, and take them away; they oppress a man and his house, a man and his inheritance.

Therefore thus says the LORD : Behold, against this family I am devising evil, from which you cannot remove your necks; and you shall not walk haughtily, for it will be an evil time.

Here I quote two examples in history, of persecutions, one of Christians and one of Jews.

The first happened in A.D. 308. by the emperor Galerius. The following is extracted from "Early Church History" by EDWARD BACKHOUSE.

but in 308 Galerius and Maximinus Daza commenced a perfect reign of terror in the East. This was the most prolific in bloodshed of any period in the whole history of the Church persecutions; and the vast majority of those who in the East are celebrated as "Martyrs under Diocletian" really suffered between 308 and 311.

At length Galerius was obliged to admit that the diabolical work which he had undertaken was too mighty for him. In the year 311, finding his measures utterly insufficient for the suppression of the Gospel, and feeling himself to be sinking under a loathsome and excruciating disease, he issued in his own name and in those of Licinius and Constantine, an edict, which virtually put an end to the sanguinary conflict of the Roman Empire with the Christian Church. ... A few days after the publication of the edict Galerius died.

Another writer wrote of him :

He was "eaten of worms." His agony was indescribable, and the whole palace was infected by the insupportable stench which issued from his sores. Milman draws attention to the coincidence that Herod, Galerius and Philip the Second of Spain, all met their death by the same terrible and loathsome disease.

The second example is of what I have read from the Readers' Digest many many years ago when I was young. There was one who was very close to Hitler, and as he has authority, he arrested and put to death many Jews. However, a disease happened to him, that he was extremely painful. Many times he sought the help of a person who knows how to massage, to ease off his pain. That person took those opportunities of healing and many times requested the release of lists of Jews, and therefore he saved the lifes of many. I learned of this from the Readers' Digest.

Nowadays, many people have power to hurt others, whether because of power/wealth/science/weaponry/.... but they should fear GOD, who is GOD OF JUSTICE, and will surely administer His justice according to His Laws/Commandments.

If justice cannot be wholly fulfilled in this life, it will be fulfilled in Hell, so that "every single cent will be settled" [Matthew 5:26].
