Recently there has been discussion about legalizing football gambling in Hong Kong?

Jesus : "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money." [Mt 6:24]

LORD's word about Shallum, (king of Israel in ancient times), whom LORD removed from the throne, " But you have eyes and heart only for your dishonest gain , for shedding innocent blood, and for practicing oppression and violence." [Jer 22:11-19]

Hence it can be seen that LORD disapproves dishonest gain, and that a person should worship LORD and not money.

We should earn money with our own hands, the hard way, the honest way..

Many would argue that tax from Football Gambling may be used for social welfare. This kind of argument should not be used by Christians. Christian should ask : "Is gambling RIGHT or WRONG in the sight of LORD", and never ask "Is taxation from Gambling good to the society or evil to the society?"

Horse Gambling is legal in Hong Kong, and many many HongKong people gamble. Thus greedy for unrighteous gain is not considered wrong in the mind of people. You see, how many people queue for stock issues of "".

Just because of this greediness, which has never be condemned publicly by Government officials, Hong Kong people bought a lot of stock before 1998, because stock price had ever been increasing before the crash. Hong Kong lost billions of dollars to foreign Fund Managers.

I also read about the Native Americans in USA putting up casinos in their reservation. I strongly disapprove of this. One should work honestly with our hands and greedy NOT for unrighteous money. (I think the Native Americans may turn to "growing vegetable", farming, .... That may not earn them much, but will make them better persons.)

One should always ask : " Is this right in the sight of LORD, or wrong in the sight of LORD?" and never "Is it good to us, or evil to us?" LORD as TRUTH, the eternal TRUTH, disapproves of us thinking that way.
