Noah once became drunk,
Noah was the first tiller of the soil. He planted a vineyard; and he drank of the wine, and became drunk, and lay uncovered in his tent. And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside. Then Shem and Japheth took a garment, laid it upon both their shoulders, and walked backward and covered the nakedness of their father; their faces were turned away, and they did not see their father's nakedness. When Noah awoke from his wine and knew what his youngest son had done to him, he said, "Cursed be Canaan; a slave of slaves shall he be to his brothers." [Gen 9:20-25]
When I was young, I was taught not to over-hear others' conversation. Hence if someone is making a call on the telephone, and if we are near, we should, if possible, walk a few yards off, to give the other a little privacy. Also, to look at other's writings without one's permission/knowledge, for example, read the diary of others, is considered serious sin. And there are others similar to these.
Now that these acts are not considered improper. e.g. some reporters would hide a video camera, and a tape recorder, and talk to people, without telling them that they are reporters. (Many Hong Kong people are friendly, they would talk to strangers in friendliness and frankness.) But the reporters would edit the tape, and broadcast them on TV. In India, some reporters would even disguise themselves and make false business calls, in order to trap officials in improper acts.
As a TV viewer, I would like to know what happens in our society. But I do not like facts that are obtained improperly.
LORD : If any one sins in that he hears a public adjuration to testify and though he is a witness, whether he has seen or come to know the matter, yet does not speak, he shall bear his iniquity. [Lev. 5:1]
I think, public inquiry, where everyone, including those who witnessed or heard of the matter, speak out, is the best and most appropriate way to find out the truth.
But our society is built upon the Roman system, hence it is impossible to tell people to attend public inquiry, or to speak out, or even to arrange such a gathering at all.
What is left then is hidden camera everywhere, that record both video and sound. Telephone tapping, digging out rubbish bins for information, "traps", ...
Worse still, such improper ways of investigation may be used by evil people to attack innocent people openly without fear. In the biography written by President Jimmy Carter after he left presidency, he wrote of a friend of him, who was a banker, and who was willing to help the farmers in difficulty by granting loan without adequate mortgages, but was investigated by Federal agents for "improper behaviour". President Carter said that he discovered that the report about his friend run to a million pages!
I too is a victim of this. People in the Security Branch labelled me as a spy. But I am sure I would be vindicated in public adjuration, if everyone who has known of the matter are allowed to speak out without fear of attack by the Secret Alliance. (This, I am sure, would even prove the evilness of some evil people).
But I am also definitely sure, that tapes recorded 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, for more than 10 years, after selective editing and with narrations added, if it be shown to a stranger, can easily convince the stranger that I am a spy. (They can plant evidence, they can order whosoever people in Hong Kong to obey them, then how could they not be able to produce video against me.)
Now that whosoever I talk to, people in the secret service would question. (People would meet many strangers in society in Hong Kong. Many strangers would talk to me the first time. But on second and third time, I notice that most are reluctant to do so. They have been questioned by people from the Security Branch and they wouldn't want to involve themselves in troubles.) Thus effectively isolating me.
This has never happened in Hong Kong before, until the Security Branch operated like those in mainland China, which operated like those of Russia. In Russia, it is "find the person, and we will find the crime."
I once approached the Legal Aid Department for help. I alone is financially incapable of any lawsuit of my own. I hope to have open talk with them in court, where every people may attend, and where they may prove me quilty, in order to settle the case. But the people in the Security Branch got control of the Legal Aid Department, and refused my application.
